Amara Entertainment has been setting the standard for Black American comic book publishing since 1993.

Who we are

Amara is a content creation company based in North Carolina, created to form, produce and distribute ethnic IP’s to fill the void left by the lack of positive Foundational Black
American heroes in the marketplace.

The mission

AMARA Entertainment LLC fosters and develops media content featuring black characters as leads. Our primary focus ranges from publishing comics and graphic novels to producing movies and animation. We bring positive, uplifting stories and imagery of black people to the world.

About Roosevelt Pitt, Jr.

Publisher, Author, Director, Creative Designer, Comic Book Creator.

PITT owned his first publishing company at age 22. He is the founder and CEO of AMARA Entertainment, LLC, an innovative company that creates and distributes comic books to encourage reading and fill the void left by a lack of positive black superheroes in the market place.

A 30 year veteran, creator, writer, director and motivational speaker, he has been recognized for his long standing accomplishments by Newsweek, USA Today, Business North Carolina, Fox News and Entertainment Tonight. He has written children’s books, graphic novels and movie scripts for his and other companies throughout his career and enjoys speaking on topics of historical value that bring
about confidence and awareness. Teaching measurable core principles, his creative talent, strength and entrepreneurial spirit have motivated children and parents around the world.

Schools, health expos, non profit organizations and churches have embraced his crusade to encourage healthy eating and lifestyles. He has written volumes of articles for printed and online publications demonstrating how parents can implement practices to avoid the traps of
childhood obesity.

His talent and experience are directed to the ongoing development of Amara’s multidimensional flagship character, PURGE and numerous other superheroes.

As a father of five, PITT understands the challenges of inspiring young children and the importance of countering negative influence. He brings a wealth of knowledge as a publisher and motivational speaker but most importantly, as a parent who lives the experience daily.
